     Sons and Daughters In Touch "SDIT" is a non-profit organization with a specific mission and objective.  The possible war in Iraq is not a part of, nor in conflict with, the mission and objective. 
     SDIT takes no position on the subject other than supporting those who might/will be involved in the conflict.

Mission Statement      Below are the names of family members of those on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial as well as Vietnam Veterans who died early due to their service, who are presently serving in our Armed Forces.  An asterik next to their names signify that they are presently in the Gulf.
     Your thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated.

ARTICLE I 
ORIGIN AND PURPOSES 
Sons and Daughters In Touch, Inc. (the "Corporation") is a non-profit charitable corporation organized pursuant to the laws of the District of Columbia.  The Corporation is organized and shall be at all times operated exclusively for charitable, scientific, literary and educational purposes ("exempt purposes") within the meaning of 501 © (3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954, or the corresponding provisions of any future United States Internal Revenue Law (the "Code").  In particular, and without limiting the 
foregoing, the Corporation's purposes set forth more fully in the Articles of Incorporation, are to locate and bring together sons and daughters of those who died or are unaccounted for as a result of the Vietnam War and to provide support to them via networking projects on a national and local level, to inform the public about the historical and emotional legacy of the Vietnam War, to conduct and sponsor educational seminars and lectures 
and publish and distribute related educational literature, and to perpetuate the healing associated with the Vietnam Veterans Memorial and other veterans memorials. 

SDIT Mission Statement: 
Our Mission: To locate, unite and provide support to Sons, Daughters and other family members of those who died or remain missing as a result of the Vietnam War; to produce a quarterly newsletter providing important information to all SDIT stakeholders; to promote healing via networking and special projects, to regularly address high schools and college classes in hopes of providing education on the historical and emotional legacy of war.

SDIT - 501 (c) 3 Guidelines 
Section: III - III.    Prohibited activities: while acting in the name of SDIT, members of the Corporation, or of a chapter, may not engage in any political activity, lobbying effort or business venture not related to the tax-exempt purposes of the Corporation.  Persons occupying official positions within the organization are deemed spokespersons for SDIT.  When making public statements, said persons should represent the policies of SDIT as established by the Board of Directors.  When making public statements (T-shirts, signs, and written and spoken word) while not in the capacity of a SDIT representative, expressions of personal opinion shall be stated as such.
