Hello To All

My name is Diana O'Grady.. now Diana Bright. I lost my dad Col John F O'Grady (MIA) on April 10, 1967. I was 8 years old and one of seven children. Dad was an Air Force pilot who flew F105's. His loss had an enormous impact on the rest of my life. He remains close to my heart and as all of you know the loss is profound.

While I am not able to be a part of the trip you are embarking upon, I am with each of you in spirit. The common bond we all share and the pain of Vietnam that still lives on in each of us today remains very real.

Please remember my dad when you are in Vietnam and if anyone comes across any information I hope you will share it with me. God Bless you all . You will be in my prayers for a safe and wonderful trip.

Love

Dear Jeanette:

Thanks for keeping me informed about the activities of SDIT.  I served in the 6th BN and the 2nd BN of the 77th Artillery so your dad and I were fellow soldiers even though we never met.  Our tours of duty however did overlap.  I came home on April 27th in 1968.  I just want to commend you for the wonderful job you are doing to keep the memories of your dad alive.  I am very proud of you.

Give my best regards to those who will be going on the trip to Vietnam.  I think that it will be very good for all of them and I pray that they come home with a new perspective on what their fathers faced.  I also pray that they might also realize that much what history has to say about us is not necessarily true and that their dads were the true heroes of our generation.

Jeanette, keep up the work you are doing and I will surely try to stay in touch with an encouraging word every now and then.  I will also add you and your family to my prayer list.  I pray now that the travelers will have a safe and wonderful journey to Vietnam and that the peace that passes all understanding will guard their hearts.

Respectfully
