Sons and Daughters In Touch is now ready to plan a group trip to Vietnam.  In support of this trip and its intentions, we offer the following five points:

1)  The mission of SDIT includes providing educational experiences to our members.  Its hard to imagine a more compelling experience for SDIT members than a trip to Vietnam

2)  This trip is not for everyone.  Many SDIT members do not want to visit Vietnam.  We realize and respect this.

3)  A much larger group of members and supporters have expressed interest in such a trip...and might not get there without SDIT's efforts.

4)  Though far from ideal, the political climate in Vietnam is now appropriate for our visit.

5)  Planning this trip will require to meet this challenge are enormous.  A host of volunteer efforts will be needed to make this trip a reality.

SDIT's trip to Vietnam will provide members the opportunity to see battlefields and learn about the country in which our fathers fought.  The trip will also provide the opportunity to meet the people that our father's fought for and against.

More importantly, this trip will signal that the healing process begun by SDIT in 1990, has come full circle.

Just as sons and daughters remember their fathers at battle sites of World War II, it is appropriate for us, the living legacies of America's War in SouthEast Asia to visit Hue, Da Nang, Ton Son Nhut, Saigon, Hanoi and the DMZ.

Let us know what you think.
