SFC Alfred "Al" Terrien
.
SFC Alfred "Al" Terrien was born and raised in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, one of many children. He joined the U.S. Army at a young age and was stationed in Germany, where he met his future wife, Johanna Burkhardt.

SFC Terrien and his wife returned to the United States and had two children, Fred and Sandie Terrien. He was in country 1966-1967 and 1971-1972, and served his country with unfaltering loyalty and pride. After his second tour in Viet Nam, SFC Terrien retired from the Armed Forces and made his home in Northern Virginia.

He lived a simple life and, when not working, enjoyed his hobbies: gardening, country music, cold beer, and carpentry. A gentle soul, SFC Terrien was extremely proud of his Native American heritage and greatly loved his family, especially his grandchildren, Robert, Nicole, Jesse and Jessica, who affectionately knew him as PopPop.

SFC Terrien left this earth on June 23, 1990, just 5 days before his 59th birthday, another victim of Agent Orange. His family and friends will always remember him as a brave solider and a wonderful and loving husband, father, and grandfather. Rest in peace, Geronimo, 10-4.
